Locust Lane is an extremely well written crime drama and mystery novel. I was immediately sucked into this story and read it in one sitting because I was so invested in it.

Locust Lane is an excellent suburban drama/mystery novel that follows a group of people in an affluent community who come under suspicion after the murder of a 20-year-old woman. It is a slow burn, character driven novel that basically intertwines the families whose children are suspected of playing a part in the murder. This book uses relevant issues within today’s society to bring the point across and I think the author did an excellent job when it comes to making the story feel very realistic and as though it could (and does) happen. I was absolutely hypnotized by this book. The writing style and the way everything plays out had me riveted. And normally I don’t care for such character driven novels- they can grate on my nerves because sometimes there’s too much detail than needs be. But it absolutely worked in this case and being able to watch these families unravel as the crime is being solved and seeing how their pasts and present affected it was superb. I also found the twist at the end to be a good one even though it COULD have been very predictable. All around this is a solid novel and I’m looking forward to many more novels from the author in the future! I recommend this to every reader!
