One of the main reasons I decided to read this one is because I’ve seen it all over tiktok. Readers have said is a super spicy and something good to read it you’re looking for a book with a decent amount of smut, so I picked it up. Unfortunately, I didn’t love this one as much as some readers. The book started out as a funny one and I had a few good chuckles but as it progressed it felt like the first part and the last part were two different books. There seemed to be a switch in the middle and what started as a lighter and funnier read (our heroine Ava has quite the personality!) turned into a serious book that involved lies, deceit, and even a kidnapping. I felt like I got whiplash! And the sex scenes? Yes, they were a LITTLE spicy, but not what I thought it would be based on some other people’s reviews. I have to wonder if we all read the same book… In any event, I did enjoy the plot and I love a 𝗕𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥'𝗦 𝗕𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗙𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗗 romance but this book did not live up to the hype based on other people’s recommendations. Had I taken a closer look at some of the reviews on goodreads I may have skipped this one.

Will I be reading the second one? Probably. I like to read at least 2-3 books before deciding whether an author is “for me” and I am interested in seeing how the whole bodyguard/princess romance plays out in the next one.
