I’ve seen this book all over Instagram and decided to give it a try! The Never King is book 1 in the Vicious Lost Boys series and is a dark Peter Pan retelling. Readers who enjoy a dark fairytale with quite a bit of spice and alpha males/fae (etc.) who are morally grey are going to love this one. And even better? It’s free with a kindle unlimited subscription! The books are short, intriguing, HOT, and told in multiple POVs so you can get a look inside all the important characters heads! All this wrapped together makes this a win for me!

I’m excited to start The Dark One next which is the second book in the series. Book 1 DOES end on a cliffhanger so if you’re like me and NEED to know what happens next then I guarantee you’ll be grabbing the second (and probably the third) immediately after!

v​The Dark one is a good follow up to THE NEVER KING (which must be read first)! This is a dark fairytale, reverse harem, fantasy romance with a LOT of spice. I enjoyed watching Winne and Vane flirt on the edge of disaster with one another (and when I saw disaster, I mean it) and seeing her interactions with the lost boys. I think my only complaint is that there isn’t much character DEVELOPMENT within this one and it feels like Winnie is a whiny character when she doesn’t get her xxx. Despite that, I love these lost boys so much and they make up for my distaste for the heroine who is slowly growing on me. I mean I don’t hate her, but I wish she would be stronger and less sexualized. It feels like all she cares about is those spicy moments. It what makes her run. There’s truly nothing more to her than that. It gets a little old after a while! Perhaps in the next one she’ll finally be less needy? Well see as I started it the second, I finished this one!

As with the last one this also ends in a cliffhanger! Thankfully book 3 is available now so if you’re like me and don’t like to wait it’s available to download immediately. Even more, it’s available through kindle unlimited!

I’m not normally a series binge reader but I couldn’t help myself with these books. And while the 3rd book (this one) was just released I feel it's important to note that I NEED BOOK 4 NOW. I have nothing else to say besides the fact that I’m hooked on this deliciously HOT peter pan retelling. It’s the perfect mix of myth, spice, morally grey heroes, fantasy, action, and magic. If you like ANY of those things, then read this series. They are all free with a kindle unlimited subscription!
