A fun take on the Irish Leap Day tradition! This one was sweet, funny, and had so many swoon worthy moments! I smiled a lot thorough it.

Friends becoming something much more in this hilarious romantic comedy from author Ann Marie Walker. A whirlwind trip to Ireland is supposed to end with a suitcase full of wool sweaters and souvenir pint glasses—not a husband you only just met!

After one-too-many whiskeys, fledgling screenwriter Cara Kennedy takes a page out of someone else’s script when she gets caught up in the Irish tradition of women proposing on Leap Day. She thought she might have dreamt everything, until she wakes the next morning with a hot guy in her bed and a tin foil ring on her finger. Her flight is in four hours, her clothes are all over the room, and she has the most important meeting of her career in exactly two days—and on top of everything else, her husband has a dog who thinks Cara is a perfect surrogate mother, despite the fact that she has never been much of an animal lover…

Deciding to work things out stateside, Finn and her new fur baby
accompany her to LA, where Finn spends his days going on auditions and his nights charming his new bride, leaving Cara to wonder whether this is real love, or if Finn is another aspiring actor just after her Hollywood connections? With limited time on his tourist visa, will Finn be able to convince Cara that she’s the right girl for him, or will time run out on their Hollywood ending?

𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗜𝗘𝗪 𝗦𝗡𝗔𝗣𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗧: A fun take on the Irish Leap Day tradition! This one was sweet, funny, and had so many swoon worthy moments! I smiled a lot thorough it.

I did a small binge read on Ann Marie Walkers last two books this month because I’m trying to read the books that I have personally purchased rather than just reading all ARCS. Having started with Happy Singles Day (which was a 3-star read for me) I was a little worried that I wasn’t going to love this one either. But then I met Fin. And his sweet talking, Irish accent had me falling head over heels in love! His accent though isn’t the only thing that made this book a winner. Fin is an absolute charmer and any woman who has a man that will treat them like Fin treats Cara has lucked out! He is truly one of the best male leads that I’ve read in a long time, and he stole the show for me. Cara is a wonderful character as well and I love how she uses her brain and not just her heart to make decisions, but Fin was definitely my favorite of the two!

Now, there were a few things that didn’t quite sit well for me with this book. The first thing being that Fin landed a leading acting role his first time in America without any training! Would this happen in real life? I doubt it. He isn’t the only Irish man who has stepped foot in Hollywood, but I was able to look past it because of how much his character impressed me. Another thing that I didn’t love how quick Cara was to dismiss Fin’s feelings for her when she gets blindsided with the twist (and then how EASY it was to make up). I totally understand being upset, but not talking to someone for WEEKS because of a misunderstanding that you’ve come to love was a little much for me. I’m not big on miscommunication and epic breakups over things that CAN be worked out, so this part did rub me the wrong way. Again, though I was able to look past it because taking in the whole story even with these two things still made me happy.

If you’re looking for an accidental/woke up married romantic comedy, then look no further because this would be a great book to read! It’s sweet, clean (fade to black scenes) and has an unforgettable cast of characters!
