THE COACHING HOURS BY SARA NEY

The Coaching Hours is the fourth and final book in the How to Date a Douchebag series. While I didn't really care about this one, I did find some parts to be hilarious.
Rating: ★★
Release Date: February 5, 2018
Genre: New Adult. College Romance.
Series: How to Date a Douchebag series #4
Pages: 300
Format: eBook. Kindle Unlimited.
THERE ARE NO DOUCHEBAGS IN THIS STORY.

Well, there are, but they’re not who this story is about.
This story is about me—the coach’s daughter.

When I moved to Iowa to live with my dad, the university's take-no-prisoners wrestling coach, I thought transferring would be easy as pie—living with my father would be temporary, and he'd make sure his douchebag wrestlers left me alone.
Wrong on both counts.

ASSHOLES ALWAYS COME OUT OF THE WOODWORK WHEN THE STAKES ARE HIGH.

A bet is placed, and I'm on the table. After one humiliating
night and too much alcohol, I find the last nice guy on campus. And when he offers to rent me his spare bedroom, I go all in. It’s time for the nice guy to finish first.

Midnight chats and spilling my problems turn to lingering touches. Lingering touches turn to more.
And the ultimate good guy has the potential do more damage than any douchebags ever could.

Read my Book Review

Release Date: February 5, 2018
Genre: New Adult. College Romance.

I read The Coaching Hours in a day as it's a fairly easy read. However, as I was reading I kept asking myself WHY I was reading it when I didn't feeling anything. It seemed like neither of the characters had any chemistry- if they did, it wasn't noticeable to me as a reader- and there really wasn't anything interesting about the characters. The backstory into their lives was severely lacking, the buildup to their romance seemed rushed, and the surprise twist towards the end wasn't all that surprising at all. Now, I am not saying all this to rip the book apart because I really love the author and her work in general, I just wasn't feeling this book enough and I had a hard time understanding why I continued it when I didn't care for it from the get-go.

One of the things that I LOVED about this book was the chapter titles. I don't know where the author got them but whenever I stumbled upon a new chapter I had the severe giggles. They were so damn funny. Another thing I liked but wished there was more of, was the college lifestyle taking place in this book. When I read NA, college romances I enjoy seeing these characters come to life in new environments and while we did get this a little bit, it wasn't the strongest I think that it could have been. The exception would be the part when Anabelle got super drunk at a party on jock row. That was HILARIOUS and made me feel like I was part of the college scene.

With that, this is the 4th and final book in the How to Date a Douchebag series but can stand alone completely. I haven't read any of the previous books and had no problems following along with this one.
