Sins of Sevin is a forbidden romance of epic proportions! I really enjoyed this book. I found it angsty and unforgettable. If you love Penelope Ward then this is a must read!
Rating: ★★★★
Release Date: September 19, 2015
Genre: Forbidden Romance.
Series: None. Standalone.

Pages: 321 pages
Format: eBook. Purchased.
From the New York Times bestselling author of Stepbrother Dearest, comes a new forbidden STANDALONE romance.

What happens when the one you want is the only one you can’t have?

It was set in stone. Elle and I were getting married. After years of rebelling against everything good and wholesome, I finally gave in and took up with a nice girl.

After a long-distance relationship, I moved into her family’s guesthouse so we could spend time together in the months before the wedding.

Elle was unlike anyone I'd ever been with. She was so innocent, and I had to respect her choice to wait until after we were married to have sex.
I’d accepted that as my fate--even learned to control my desires.

Until I met her…the one.

That was when restraint became a problem…especially since “the one” wasn’t Elle.

It was her sister, Evangeline.

And I was screwed.

Told in alternating points of view, Sins of Sevin is a full-length standalone novel.

Actual Rating: 4.25 stars

Sins of Sevin has been sitting on my kindle for a long time. So little by little, I have been trying to clear up my older reads via a TBR jar and this was one of my picks! Sins of Sevin is a forbidden romance novel. It is a complete standalone and has a ton of angst. I enjoyed it a lot, read it in one sitting by the pool, and got all sorts of "feels" from reading it. Anyone who has been a long time lover of Penelope Ward will love this one. I think some of her earlier works are really good!

What makes this book forbidden is the fact that a romance blossoms between two people; Sevin and Evangeline, who are not supposed to be together. Sevin has grown up in a deeply religious family who believes in courtship and marriage. Dating as it occurs in today's society is looked down on and strictly forbidden (think 19 kinds and counting). After his father dies, Sevin is given a proposition by a close family friend- court and ultimately marry his daughter Elle and take over the family business. With nothing to lose Sevin agrees. But what he doesn't count on is falling in love with his new fiances sister.

Evangeline has also been brought up in a strictly religious family, but she is sort of a rebel of the bunch. She believes love is love, and the word of the bible doesn't have to be taken quite so seriously. Not wanting to court a man for the intention of marriage is one of her ways of rebelling but after she falls for her sisters fiance she sees no other way. Unfortunately, no matter who is supposed to marry who, she can't help the passion so feels for Sevin and she goes again everything her family preaches... But, twists and turns ahead throw both of them a curve ball, and no one will be able to predict the future...

This book had quite a few twists and turns that I wasn't expecting and it packed a TON of angst and heat for such a small book. I was literally on a roller-coaster of emotions while reading it and didn't know which side to chose. I n the end though, I liked how everything turned out and I think Penelope wrote a really good story within these pages.
