Baby Teeth is creepy, original, and insanely twisted! I haven't read a book where a character freaks me out as much as Hannah did. This book has all the markings for a horrifying, psychological suspense novel and I can see why many readers liked it so much. I found it eerily satisfying. For those who are familiar with the books The Omen and Bad Seed, this book is right there with them. However, what makes this one stand out from both is that we get an inside look at this devilish child's thoughts. She may be mute in person, but the stuff that goes on in her head? Terrifying! If you're looking for a sinister read to sink your teeth into this summer, I very much recommend Baby Teeth to you.

Baby Teeth is told in dual point of views. Suzette, the mother, is coping with having a mute child. However, it's much harder than just dealing with a child who won't talk. Why? Because Hanna, at only 7, is also a psychopath. Throughout the story, readers go along for the ride as Suzette becomes more and more afraid of her daughter. She sees things in her that her husband doesn't, she deals with horrifying abuse (tacks in the feet, almost being bludgeoned with a hammer, and even almost dying while being set on fire), and slowly deteriorates because of it. We watch as Suzette plunges into darkness, alone, with no idea how to save herself or her daughter.
Hannah is 7. She is mute by choice (you will learn this through the story) and appears to be quite the little psycho. The author does a wonderful job as describing her thoughts and behaviors making them seem both childish and sinister. Hannah loves her daddy but her mommy is in the way. And to keep her father from falling further into her her "mothers spells" she does everything to sabotage their relationship and even her mothers life. How far will Hannah go to get rid of the one person standing in her way? You'll have to read it and hear it through Hannah's thoughts to find out!
Once again, this is a creepy novel, one that I had a hard time putting down once I picked it up. It's got a collection of interesting characters, and a fantastic plot line with will scare grown adults! I recommend this novel to anyone who likes their books a bit darker.
