For me, one of those authors is Amber Kelly. I stumbled upon her first book in this series RUSTIC HEARTS last year when I was looking for new books in the kindle unlimited program. Seeing the cover for Rustic Hearts is what first caught my attention. Then I read the blurb, got chills, and decided this is a book I NEED to try. Let me tell you, I am so glad I did because this series is shaping up to be one of my favorite series of all time. There’s just something about sweet, small town romances that get me. Add to that second chances at love and true feelings from the heart and you have yourself a winner. Family ties are also at the forefront of these novels and it’s so beautiful to witness the power of these relationships- honestly, it’s inspirational! Ladies, if you haven’t had the pleasure of reading either of these books, I strongly recommend giving them a try. I’m telling you; I’ve been smiling ear to ear since I started and finished this one (same goes for Rustic Hearts). I love these books so much that I’m even going ahead and purchasing the paperbacks because I know a re-read is something I’ll be doing in the near future. As I mentioned above, this is a small-town romance. I’d also consider it a friends-to-lovers and brothers best friend romance because the two have known each other their whole lives and the hero (Myer) is good friends with the heroines (Dallas) brother. Dallas also happens to be a single mom and best friend to Sophie who appears in the first book in the series. (Each book can stand alone). So, what happens in the story? What makes this book so special that I recommend it to everyone? Well, there’s a romance of course, but it happens slowly for Dallas and Myer. You see Dallas has been burned in the past by her ex husband and has no intention of letting another man in to hurt her or her son. Myer though is a kind and patient man and while he’s been harboring feelings for Dallas for a long time and he understands her needs for something a little slower paced. When the two finally figure out their feelings there’s a teeny bit of drama that unfolds, but it shows the strength of both of them and leads them closer together. If you want to know what I mean, you’ll have to read it yourself! What makes the book so special? The love. It feels organic and real. Amber Kelly knows how to write feelings and it’s hard NOT to think your falling in love too. It’s also the chemistry and bonds, the charm and sweetness, and the idea that two people so perfect for one another can find love despite hardships. Amber Kelly writes it to good that you practically feel as if you’re the characters themselves. That my friends (and really, so much more) is what makes this a diamond in the rough. I like to offer high praise to authors when I enjoy their books and I am always honest when it comes to my reviews. You can clearly see my love of many novels though my blog but I’m telling you, this series really STANDS OUT. Pure perfection in every area. I hope many readers will give it a try. ★★★★★BOOK TEASERSREAD AN EXCERPTWe drop Sonia off first, and then I head to Dallas’s. About halfway there, she starts yawning. She kicks her boots off and curls her legs up in the seat of the truck. I do my best to keep my eyes on the damn road. That dress has been driving me crazy all night. It fits her perfect and hugs her curves in all the right places. “Myer, I think I might be drunk,” she says as she closes her eyes and lays her head back against the seat. “You think so, huh?” I say playfully. She peeks one eye open and looks at me. “You’re handsome,” she says with a slight slur. “Thank you.” I chuckle. “I’m serious. You are. You had Charlotte all hot and bothered tonight,” she insists. “Is that right? Must be why she stayed with Walker.” I smirk. “No, no, she stayed with Walker because I told her to back off you,” she says, and then her eyes fly open and meet mine. “I mean, I told her you weren’t that kind of guy,” she tries to explain. “You mean, the kind of guy who would want to go home with a beautiful woman?” I ask just to tease her. “You think she’s beautiful?” she asks and then shakes her head. “Of course you do; she is beautiful.” “She is,” I agree. “But you’re right. The only beautiful woman I want to take home is the one in my truck,” I say as I smile over at her. She bites her lip. “You think I’m beautiful?” she asks as if she doesn’t believe me. “Dallas Stovall, I think you are the most beautiful girl I’ve ever met,” I answer honestly. She blinks at me as if the words aren’t registering. “Really?” she breathes. I grin and cut my eyes from the road to her. “You know you’re gorgeous.” Her forehead crinkles, and she shakes her head. “I’m a mess,” she whispers into the cab. I reach over and take her hand into mine. She lays her head back down, and before we make it to her house, she is fast asleep. I put the truck in park, and I walk to her side and open the door. I give her a gentle jostle to wake her. She barely rouses. “Hey, we’re home,” I tell her. She mumbles something incoherent and hands her keys over to me. I unlock her front door and turn the lamp beside the door on. Then, I go back for her. I pick her and her boots up. She wraps her arms around my neck. I carefully walk her to the house and to the couch. She curls up on her side and immediately passes back out. I walk into Beau’s room and grab a pillow from his bed. I bring it and place it under her head. I throw the blanket off the back of the couch over her and kiss the top of her head. I whisper, “Good night,” and quietly let myself out, taking her keys and locking the dead bolt behind me. START THE SERIES WITH RUSTIC HEARTS
