This is the first time I have read a collaboration with these authors! I think the way they wrote together was great. Sometimes cowritten books feel disjointed but that is not the case here. It's Not Over is a second chance romance. It's a story about two people who love one another but divorce because communication is lacking. Had the two talked about their problems and feelings I would doubt they would have went as far as they did in terminating their relationship. I am not saying this as a spoiler FYI. If you read the synopsis of the book it basically tells you this (and the general gist of the book).
One of the things that I really loved about this book is how heartwarming it felt. Love, a second time around, can be a good or bad thing. If you don't fix the mistakes of your past it obviously won'y be good. However, if you open your eyes to your flaws and learn to communicate it can make a world of a difference. I SAW this in It's Not Over and I think Lacey and Kaylee did a good job at showing it to us readers.
What I didn't care for when it comes to the book is their actual divorce. It becomes clear early on that neither of the two truly wanted it so the fact that they had to spend all that time and money to dissolve their marriage and then come back together again (rather quickly) was silly. I know this actually happens in real life, but for me I just wanted to slap them!
Other than this, I felt like It's Not Over was a solid read. It's deep in emotion, heartache, love, and more. I look forward to reading more of their books in the future!
