Theo Banks has been running from the past for years. He’s thisclose to finally settling all his debts, and one more job as a boyfriend-for-hire will do the trick. He’s no gigolo. Please. He’s something of an actor, and he knows how to slip into any role, including pretending to be April’s new beau -- the bad boy with the heart of gold.
Even if it means sleeping in close quarters in that tiny little bed in her parents’ inn. Even if it means spinning tales of a romance that starts to feel all too true. What neither one of them counts on is that amid the egg toss, the arm wrestling, and a fierce game of Lawn Twister that has them tangled up together, they might be feeling the real deal.
She only wanted to show her family once and for all that she had no need to settle down.
He didn’t expect to have the time of his life at her parent’s home.
They didn’t plan on loving every single second of the game.
But can a masterful game of pretend result in true love?

Lauren Blakely has delivered in her brand new romance, The Real Deal. Fans of romances that feature fake relationships and small town feels are going to want to grab this one. It's a true pleasure to read. I quickly got sucked into the story line and fell head over heels for April and Theo. I love how Lauren added some humor to the story (my favorite books ALWAYS have laugh out loud moments) and how she made it feel real and serious at the same time.
April Hamilton is visiting her hometown for their brand of summer Olympics. But because she doesn't want her family meddling in her personal relationships (aka love life) she decides to hire a man to pretend he's her boyfriend for the week. Easy peasy right? Wrong. Her fake relationship quickly becomes something she could see a future with. Too bad someones hiding some things that could lead the end of their HEA before they know it.
Theo Banks can be anyone you want him to be. A French man, cowboy with a sexy southern drawl, a bad boy who will hit on anyone (including your mom) and everything in between. In need of extra cash he rents himself out as a boyfriend for hire.. Which is how he meets the beautiful April Banks. But what happens when a job turns into something real? And what happens when the demons he is hiding rear their ugly little heads?
The Real Deal balances romance, humor, and heart perfectly. There are some secrets being hidden and a tiny bit of angst during the build up, but is an overall lighthearted and fun read. I recommend this book to those who love the authors books/writing (I mean, who doesn't love Lauren Blakely) and for those who love a book that will make them smile and laugh.
