Release Date: May 31, 2016
Genre: Dark Romance (with taboo elements)
Actual Rating: 3 stars
I have come to love K. Websters dark and taboo romances. While this one isn't entirely taboo, it fits in with the genre as the heroine- Nadia, has a sexual relationship with her stepfather. I won't say anything more about their particular relationship as I don't want to spoil it, but that's where the taboo comes from. In addition to this, Sweet Jayne is a very dark
I don't want to talk too much about the plot because it would be a major spoiler. Also, if you notice, the author kept the blurb very vague as to not spoil the story for possible readers. So I won't say much about it other than the fact that it's a messed up read. There is romance between the pages, but it takes a lot to get there so you need to bare with the story until it unfolds.
As for my rating of this book, I gave it 3 stars. This is not because the stuff inside bothered me. I read dark romances quite a bit so it takes a lot to turn me off a book when it comes to the darkness of it. The reason I give it 3 stars is because everything that happened within the novel and the circumstances of WHY things were happening seemed a little silly and far fetched. This is especially true when it comes to the hate that Kasper feels towards Nadia (if you read the book you probably know what I mean). Also, I felt it to be quite unbelievable the lengths that certain characters go through in the book in order to save another. Who would willingly do this to themselves? I can't think of anyone who would.
Anyway, this book is a dark and fucked up read filled with torture, brutality, and revenge. There are some serious psychopaths within the novel and other bad guys. This book is not for everyone, and many people will feel sick just reading it. But if you can look past it all, you may find yourself enjoying the novel.
