Squee!!! This book was so much fun! I fell hard for the characters and laughed my way though the entire book. If you are a fan of the author(s) this is a must read for you!
Rating: ★★★★★
Release Date: December 4, 2018
Genre: Romantic Comedy

Series: None. Complete standalone.
Pages: 384 pages
Format: eBook. ARC.
By the New York Times bestselling author who “hilariously depicts modern dating” (Us Weekly), My Favorite Half-Night Stand is a laugh-out-loud romp through online dating and its many, many fails.

Millie Morris has always been one of the guys. A UC Santa Barbara professor, she’s a female-serial-killer expert who’s quick with a deflection joke and terrible at getting personal. And she, just like her four best guy friends and fellow professors, is perma-single.

So when a routine university function turns into a black tie gala, Mille and her circle make a pact that they’ll join an online dating service to find plus-ones for the event. There’s only one hitch: after making the pact, Millie and one of the guys, Reid Campbell, secretly spend the sexiest half-night of their lives together, but mutually decide the friendship would be better off strictly platonic.

But online dating isn’t for the faint of heart. While the guys are
inundated with quality matches and potential dates, Millie’s first profile attempt garners nothing but dick pics and creepers. Enter “Catherine”—Millie’s fictional profile persona, in whose make-believe shoes she can be more vulnerable than she’s ever been in person. Soon “Catherine” and Reid strike up a digital pen-pal-ship...but Millie can’t resist temptation in real life, either. Soon, Millie will have to face her worst fear—intimacy—or risk losing her best friend, forever.

Perfect for fans of Roxanne and She’s the Man, Christina Lauren’s latest romantic comedy is full of mistaken identities, hijinks, and a classic love story with a modern twist. Funny and fresh, you’ll want to swipe right on My Favorite Half-Night Stand.

Read my Book Review

Release Date: December 4, 2018
Genre: Friends-to-Lovers Romance
Actual Rating: 5 stars

Sigh. I loved this book so much but hate the fact that I read it so quickly. This is the type of book that readers (like myself) will have no problem reading over and over again. It's also the kind of book that you can easily devour in one sitting. Thankfully, I also purchased the paperback so that I can come back to the story whenever I want. It's a cute read with quirky characters and a lovely romance. Christina Lauren are known for their swoony romances but the past two releases have been so much better than I could have ever imagined. Honestly, I just loved this book to pieces and I can't say enough good things about it! If you're not reading it based in the cover alone (how cute is it!) then do it for the cast of characters that come alive within the pages. I loved them all and am crossing my fingers for some more stories that feature them.

This book is the perfect friends-to-lovers romance. Millie and Reid have been friends for a few years. Millie is seen as "one of the guys" in her small circle of friends (she's the only female) and she has no intention of anything more because their little clique is perfect. However, after a few bottles of wine and a game of monopoly, Millie decides that MAYBE it would be okay to hook-up with her best guy pal. I mean, what could go wrong? Neither Millie nor Reid want to admit that there is a potential of feelings between the two, so they along with their other friends decide to try online dating. But when two of them are matched together and the other one doesn't realize who he's talking to, things become complicated...

With little drama, a cute twist, and a lot of fun, this book is going to be a hit! I have recently come to love Christina Lauren and plan to continue reading all their books in from the past and the future. They are too much fun to pass up and always manage to make me smile! I highly recommend this to all readers of romance.
