I don't know Cole's story or what he's running from, but one thing is certain: I'm not letting him run away from me.

Actual Rating: 3.5 stars
Fresh Catch by Kate Canterbary is the first book in the Talbott's Cove series. Each book can be read as complete standalones as they are loosely connected and feature different couples. This one in particular is an M/M romance. I haven't read one in ages so I was really excited to dive into this one. Overall, it's a good book. Unfortunately, there wasn't anything that specifically stood out to me while reading that left me aching for more (hence the 3 stars). Everything happened so quickly with the couple! One moment they barely had anything to talk about and the next minute they were humping next to a tree! It felt a little too sudden for my tastes as I personally prefer a couple to explore a more deeper understanding of one another before they have sex.
One of the things I loved about this on is the scenery. I haven't read a book about a brooding fisherman in a long time (maybe ever) and the way Kate described the setting was wonderful. I could practically taste the salt from the ocean. Also, the fact that it takes place in Coastal Maine was wonderful. I used to vacation in the area a lot when I was younger and this made me want to visit the area again!
While I didn't love this one, I did like it and it passed the time. I read it in one sitting. It's a quick, easy read, and filled with some uber sexy scenes! If you enjoy male/male romances, you may want to consider giving this one a try.
