Genre: MM Romance
Forget Me Not by Brooke Blaine is a contemporary, MM romance. While I did like the story, I don't think there was enough character development. I would have liked to have known more about the characters, especially on a deeper level. I feel like the author touched upon them superficially, but not enough to keep me engaged in their story like I would have hoped.
One of the things that I did enjoy was the circumstances surrounding their meeting. Having only seen each other a few times, it was nice to see that despite the challenges they faced, that they could get together. I did worry a little that things rushed too fast, because this comes off as unrealistic to me as a reader, but the author did a good job at drawing them together.
Now, normally I would give a little more information about the story but I think this would be a spoiler to those who want the emotion that this one sheds. So I won't do that to you. But I will tell you that it DOES end in a dreaded cliffhanger and you're going to want to next book STAT. Even though it wasn't my favorite, I will still read the second book to see what happens.
If you're looking for a sweet MM duet, this is a good one to start with. It's not all raunchy and erotic, it's more on the sweeter side with a little bit of sex thrown in to make it seems like a true MM romance.
