In doing so, our forever wasn’t just interrupted. It was chased away with one irreversible decision after another.
And now, we could no longer see it beneath the heaping piles of debris we’d left in our wake.

Damn! This book took me on an emotional roller coaster. I didn't know if I could ever pick my jaw up off the floor! The angst is CRAZY GOOD. I felt EVERYTHING from the top of my head to the bottom of my toes. Ella Fields has one hell of a story here and I know readers are going to feel every bit of emotion just like I did!
Forever and Never is the second standalone in the Magnolia Cove series. Readers who have read the first book; Kiss and Break Up will notice that secondary characters make an appearance in this one. Don't worry if you haven't read Kiss and Break Up (even though you should because it's sooo good) because that won't take away from your enjoyment of this one. They really have no effect on this story, they are just supporting characters and friends. Anyway, this is a young adult romance series although it reads more like a college romance than a high school one. The characters are not super immature like you see in many of these books. Rather, they make juvenile decisions that could affect their entire life. Hence why it's within the NA/YA genre.
This book is FULL on angst. I'm telling you, my heart was beating out of my chest the second the main characters had their first scene with each other and didn't let up beating a mile minute until I hit the end. I wasn't expecting what was going to happen in the story, but I loved how everything turned out regardless of how much it broke my heart. I know, this is vague but you need to read the book for yourself to see what I mean. I refuse to spoil it for potential readers because it's that good!
One thing I will mention is that Lars stole my heart. That poor guy couldn't catch a break in this book and I immediately fell for him because of it. That's not me saying I'm glad he was in the predicament he was in, it's just that I felt so much sympathy for his character. Normally, the girls are in HIS position in books like this but Ella turned the table in this scenario and I loved it!
With all that being said, I enjoyed this book a lot and highly recommend it to readers!
