Joe Goldberg is the anti-hero we have all grown to love! Readers will be pleased to see that while Joe has grown up a bit, his stalking tendencies, and the iffy ways he goes about love haven’t changed at all! I hope the author is planning another book.
Rating: ★★★★
Release Date: April 6, 2021

Series: You series #3 (must be read in order)
Pages: 387 pages

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • The highly anticipated new thriller in Caroline Kepnes’s hit You series, now a blockbuster Netflix show—a compulsively readable trip into the deviant mind of the uniquely antisocial, savvy bookseller Joe Goldberg.

Joe Goldberg is done with the cities. He’s done with the muck and the posers, done with Love. Now he’s saying hello to nature, to simple pleasures on a cozy island in the Pacific Northwest. For the first time in a long time, he can just breathe.

He gets a job at the local library—he does know a thing or two about books—and that’s where he meets her: Mary Kay DiMarco. Librarian. Joe won’t meddle, he will not obsess. He’ll win her the old-fashioned way . . . by providing a shoulder to cry on, a helping hand. Over time, they’ll both heal their wounds and begin their happily ever after in this sleepy town.
The trouble is . . . Mary Kay already has a life. She’s a mother. She’s a friend. She’s . . . busy.

True love can only triumph if both people are willing to make room for the real thing. Joe cleared his decks. He’s ready. And hopefully, with his encouragement and undying support, Mary Kay will do the right thing and make room for him.

YOU by Caroline Kepnes has been and probably will always be one of my favorite books! I never saw myself as someone who ROOTS for the villain, but that’s just something I cannot help! He is a brilliant villain- one I know I will never forget! He is also the type of villain many of us readers have come to love. Sure, he may be a little psychotic and his methods of finding love are way off, but his intentions look pure and sometimes even make sense. It’s incredible how the author was able to do this! And no, I don’t condone his behavior in the first two books, but his skewed reasoning does warp the mind in the best of ways 😉

Now, the reason I gave this one 4 stars is because I think there was a little too much drama . Joe may not have been a murderer in YOU LOVE ME, but every single person he despised got what HE saw coming for them. The author made it way too easy for Joe to get his way. I also didn’t care for the ending. The twist was great, but all of it put together was a bit contrived for me. How can this one man have such bad luck in every single area of his life!?! It simply wasn’t the most realistic and frankly made me roll my eyes A LOT.

Other than this, YOU LOVE ME is another solid read from the author. I hope she plans on writing another book because the way this one ends could potentially set us up for another one! I just hope luck is on Joe’s side for once!
