To me, he was Grizzly.
To the world, I would learn, he’s someone else completely.

I should have died on that mountain.
But he rescued me.

More animal than man, he’s cold, distant, and fiercely territorial. He seems to hate me for simply breathing, and yet, he brought me back to life.

After my return to the city, I can’t stop thinking about him. His rough hands, intense glare, and the way he cared for me as if I meant something to him.

He tells me he’s dangerous. That I’m not safe around him. I would eventually understand why he warned me away. But by then it’s too late. My heart is his.

READ MY BOOK REVIEW

𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗜𝗘𝗪 𝗦𝗡𝗔𝗣𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗧: If you love a romance with a tortured hero then you need Wild North in your life. This is an undeniably good read with characters I fell in love with instantly.

I haven’t read a book by J.B. Salsbury in quite a while and reading Wild North reminded me why I enjoy her writing so much. She doesn’t write her heroes like everyone else does. They stand completely apart from probably ANY hero I’ve read about and this my friends, is what makes her books so special. Alexander (aka Grizzly) is the perfect tortured hero. He has flaws, is a tad bit unhinged, and has a dark past that has made him the man he is. I wasn’t expecting this tortured man to be able to fall in love, but I guess it goes to show you that it just doesn’t happen with anyone. You need someone truly special, someone that knows YOU and respects YOU (flaws and all) to be able to open your heart to the possibility. Salsbury proves that through her characters in this novel.

Alexander and Jordon were PERFECT for each other. While theirs is certainly an unconventional love story, their chemistry was off the charts. Sure, it took some time for it to happen between them (he did rescue her, a complete stranger, from death on that mountain) but once those sparks ignited BAM. Intense, undeniable chemistry. I love how Salsbury described in detail the way he took care of this woman he didn’t know even though his brain was fighting with his feelings. I think many readers will love these two as they come together and fight for their hearts.

I don’t want to say too much more about this book because I think all romance books need to be read and FELT by the reader, but I will say that after the cabin (which I really wanted more of to be honest) things took a major turn that I wasn’t expecting. At this point I can safely say that I do love the change of scenery and the “hidden stuff” about Alexander, but I didn’t like it in the beginning. I thought it was too much of a change for me to get on board with. Thankfully, I kept reading and I’m so glad I did because theirs is a love story I won’t forget.

If you’re interested in romances with a tortured/grumpy hero who has a darker past and a heroine with fight and spunk, then this is the perfect romance for you. I read this in nearly one sitting because I couldn’t get enough of seeing these two progress to their HEA.
