Meghan Quinn has released another dazzling romance with The Strike Out! New adult, college romance readers can rejoice because Holt is going to steal your heart!
Rating: ★★★★★
Release Date: January 4, 2021
Genre: New Adult. College Romance. Sports.

Series: No official series but it IS part of one. Standalone.
Pages: 350 pages
Format: eBook. Source: The author
It started with one night out with the boys.

She was the hot diner waitress putting herself through school.
I was the rich, arrogant player everyone misjudges.

On paper we didn’t match.

Yet all it took was one day. One single day to change her mind.

She wasn’t planning to spend her day off with me.
She wasn’t supposed to fall for my charm.
But one day, one smile, turned into several nights of her calling out my name.

I’m not the guy she should end up with. I’m jealous, possessive. Not here for a long time - just a good time.

She’s changed me.
But, for some reason, I feel her slipping through my fingers and no matter what I do, I fear I’m going to strike out with the one and only girl I’ve ever fallen for.

READ MY BOOK REVIEW

My Rating: 5 stars
Genre Sports Romance | College Romance

There’s no doubt that 2020 has been a hard year on all of us. We’ve all been dealt some kind of blow whether it be job loss, sickness, or fear. One of the things that have kept me afloat during it all has been books. Sure, there were times when I couldn’t even stomach reading but for the most part, getting lost in novels has been my escape. As 2020 comes to a close I can officially say I’ve ended the year with many amazing books under my belt. Some old, some new. One of those new ones being THE STRIKE OUT by Meghan Quinn. Ladies, (and gents) this book did NOT disappoint. Talk about a swoony and charming book boyfriend- that is EXACTLY who Holt Green is. Gosh, its so refreshing to be swept up by a character who has everything us women beg for in a man! Holt has it all! If you’re like me, you’ve been very curious about this man since the beginning of the series. Admittedly, I wasn’t sure what his story would be like, but I can now officially tell you its one of the BEST in the series! Holt and Harmony felt realistic and easy. There wasn’t any unnecessary drama or horrible breakups that make readers throw their kindles out the window. This book was refreshing, sweet, and insanely adorable in the best of ways! Sure, there were a few ups and downs (it wouldn’t be a MQ book without a little bit of angst thrown in) but it just felt RIGHT exactly how it is. I loved Holt. I loved Harmony. I loved their relationship, and I loved their little surprise in the end! 𝗜𝗙 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗡𝗘𝗘𝗗 𝗧𝗢 𝗚𝗘𝗧 𝗦𝗪𝗘𝗣𝗧 𝗨𝗣 𝗜𝗡 𝗔𝗡 𝗔𝗟𝗟-𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗦𝗨𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗟𝗢𝗩𝗘 𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗬 then this is the book you need on your kindle ASAP!

𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗕𝗢𝗢𝗞

Holt and Harmony’s story starts out a little rocky as Harmony has no interest in cocky ball players. But once Holt sets his sights on this lady he can’t seem to quit! He needs her in his life like the air he needs to breath. So, he patiently waits for the right moment and swoops in with his charm and glory! How could Harmony resist?

Harmony has had it will baseball players thinking they own the school. So, when a table of players comes in after a drunken night out, she can’t keep her distaste to herself. But one man doesn’t want to be lumped in with the other playboys and she soon discovers that you should never judge a person based on the actions of someone else.

Will Holt and Harmony make it to the locker room? Will these two fall in love despite the things standing in their way (i.e. fear)? You’ll have to find out by reading THE STRIKE OUT! Available January 4th, 2021!

𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗜 𝗟𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗗 𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗕𝗢𝗢𝗞

● There wasn’t any unnecessary drama. Sure, there were a few arguments and maybe one big fight that left me cranky (I have when characters and real people can’t get their heads out of their butts) but for the most part their story was EASY. I loved this so much! I needed something lighter and I got that here.

● Holt is NOT a cocky playboy. He has deep feelings and goes for what he wants without hurting others in the process. We can all appreciate a man like Holt, and I know readers are going to go crazy for his sweet demeanor.

● I love how Meghan took us back to Brentwood. Brentwood is the college where all the guys have come from (like Knox and Carson) and being back in the college scene is refreshing. There’s no doubt about it; I prefer a college romance over a strict sports/adult romance, so this one was extra special for me.

● This book is a part of a series where readers KNOW the secondary characters from their own books. Of all the romance series, out there I definitely prefer a series of interconnected standalones which is what this one is.

𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗜 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗟𝗜𝗞𝗘𝗗 𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗕𝗢𝗢𝗞

● Honestly, there was NOTHING I disliked about this book. NOTHING!

𝗦𝗨𝗠𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗜𝗧 𝗨𝗣

Fans of college romances with amazing and quick-witted characters are not going to want to miss Holt and Harmony’s sweet love story! These characters are absolutely adorable and so realistic that they become REAL to us readers! I highly recommend it!

BOOK TEASERS

READ AN EXCERPT

“Four patty melts, then?” Harmony asks, with a little more attitude in her voice than before.
“That would be—”
“Is there something wrong?” I ask, interrupting Knox before he can say something douchey like “that would be lovely.”
“Nope.” She pops the P with a snap of her lips and refuses to look at any of us.
“Then the patty melts would be—”
“Do you have something against us being on the baseball team?” I ask, turning my entire body toward her. Carson groans. He becomes “ravenous” when he’s drunk, and I know all he wants is his patty melt with a plateful of fries, but I want some answers first.
The stigma on campus is that the players on the Brentwood baseball team are entitled assholes—which might be true for some of the players who’ve worked through the system, but not for us. There’s also a good chance, at least once a day, that we run into a student on campus who hates us. Didn’t think it would happen before school started.
“Dude, you’re so aggressive right now,” Knox says. “Maybe she just—”
“Yeah, I do.” Harmony props her hand on her hip.
“Okay, never mind.” Knox leans back in his booth and folds his arms over his chest.
“Let me guess,” I say in an irritated and affronted tone. “You think we’re a bunch of entitled assholes who rule the campus and don’t deserve half the benefits we receive for being on the team.”
She folds her arms as well and with a whole lot of sass, she says, “Yeah, I do. Your expensive stadium, equipment, staff, and full-ride scholarships eat up half the tuition on this campus, leaving nothing for us peasants. You’re obnoxious, self-righteous, and think the world revolves around you. Meanwhile, the rest of the students around you work at shitty diners, earning low wages, serving drunk morons like you at all hours of the night, just to put ourselves through college so we can earn a degree, graduate to a shitty job that won’t pay for our student loans, and wind up in debt with the rest of the country.”
Yikes.
Silence falls. What do you say to that?
Clearly, she’s bitter, but with the passion flaming in her eyes and the claws ready to shoot from her fingertips, I think I should slowly back away.
Jason takes that moment to appear from the bathroom, and he sits with a resounding plop. He glances around and asks, “Did you order me a patty melt?”
Rolling her eyes, Harmony takes off toward the kitchen, leaving us concerned. Is she going to put in our order? Because we want our patty melts.
