the improbable name of Treasure Island. She sheds her old life and checks into an uncertain future at The Murmuring Surf Motel.
The No Vacancy sign is flashing & the sharks are circling...
And that’s the good news. Because The Surf, as the regulars call it, is the winter home of a close-knit flock of retirees and snowbirds who regard this odd-duck newcomer with suspicion and down-right hostility. As Letty settles into the motel’s former storage room, she tries to heal Maya’s heartache and unravel the key to her sister’s shady past, all while dodging the attention of the owner’s dangerously attractive son Joe, who just happens to be a local police detective. Can Letty find romance as well as a room at the inn—or will Joe betray her secrets and put her behind bars? With danger closing in, it’s a race to find the truth and right the wrongs of the past.

READ MY BOOK REVIEW
𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗜𝗘𝗪 𝗦𝗡𝗔𝗣𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗧: Mary Kay Andrews delivers in yet again the perfect beach read! This book has it all: suspense, beachy vibes, and women power! I devoured it and smiled long after I turned the last page.
I’ve been reading Mary Kay Andrews for years and I swear her books never get old for me. While the last 4-5 years her books have taken a more serious tone, the stories she tells are still exciting. In this one, readers will meet a woman on the run who hides herself and her niece at a small beach town motel in Florida until the murder of her sister is solved. Readers will get all the beachy vibes, a community of amazing secondary characters, and a plot so intriguing that it’s hard to put down! Also, there is a budding romance and while it doesn’t take over the story it is still there like a hidden little gem! I loved it and found myself smiling long after I turned the last page.
Seeing as Mary Kay Andrews is one of my FAVORITE authors, I can’t help but recommend her books to everyone. She truly has a knack for writing the kind of books that almost ANY reader will want to read, and her plots are always interesting, raw, and honest. Sure, they tend to sway more towards the women’s fiction gerne which isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but they also (all) have powerful messages. And of course, her storytelling abilities is just magical! So, would I recommend this one? Absolutely! It’s the perfect escape for the summer and maybe even those cold winter months when all you want is a warm beach and a cocktail in hand!
